It’s holiday season again, and also the time of year that many families rely on charitable organizations to provide Christmas gifts for their young children.
The Cowboy Santas Program Inc. is a 501 C(3) charitable organization that has provided toys to children from low-income Tarrant County families throughout the holiday season since 1981.
Over the last two decades, the program has grown to cover all of Tarrant County to assist families that have an income at or below the Federal Income Guidelines.
This great organization is now accepting applications for volunteers to help sort, bag, and distribute toy donations for families in need from their Fort Worth warehouse. As a volunteer, you can help Cowboy Santas and the Holiday Spirit reach thousands of children in our local community!
To Volunteer for Cowboy Santas you must:
– Register online.
– Be 14 years of age.
– Complete & sign a Volunteer Waiver Form which will be emailed prior to your volunteer session.
– Wear comfortable clothing and casual shoes during your volunteer session.
Bagging volunteers will help sort and bag toys in preparation for distribution. Team up with a buddy, grab a cart and help build the perfect bag of toys for needy families.
Volunteers will be given a family sheet which lists the children’s ages and gender, and then will be able to “shop” in the warehouse appropriate toys. Once you’ve collected appropriate toys for the children on the list, just turn in your cart and Cowboy Santas will take care of the rest.
Three shifts are available for bagging during weekdays:
Morning Shift: 9 am to 12 pm
Afternoon Shift: 1 pm to 5 pm
Evening Shift: 6 pm to 9 pm
The Cowboy Santas Warehouse is located at 541 North Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas, 76164 (near Coyote Drive-In & La Grave Field – north of Downtown Fort Worth).
