Did you know that 1 in every 8 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer? The Black Men Awareness of Prostate Cancer (BMAPC) Foundation of North Texas is working to lower that number and raise awareness about the disease. Their goal is to gather 200 males to test for prostate cancer, track and promote awareness, healthy eating and living to change their lives for a twelve month period of time. They will then proceed to every major city in the country, promoting the 200 man outreach program, contributing to a global awareness campaign, summit and conferences. The Foundation is forging a 24 month calendar detailing various activities to promote the awareness and cause for a cure.
For the next event, coming up in June, Big F.A. Entertainment is presenting the BMAPC Foundation DFW Wine Festival. This event will host over 300 wines and over 30 different food and beverage vendors, for one extraordinary night. The BMAPC will raise funds focusing on the seriousness of prostate cancer and its effect on ALL men.
This special event will take place on Saturday, June 18th at the C.R. Smith Museum from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Dress is semi-formal. Tickets are available for purchase ahead of time and also at the door. Attendees’ printed tickets must match the name on their State ID, presented upon entry.
DFW Wine Festival will also provide SafeRide Home. SafeRide Home offers safe transportation after the event. The BMAPC Foundation encourages everyone to drive safely and to not drink and drive! This feature will appeal to those who want to enjoy the event without the worry of driving home for the evening.
Visit the BMAPC Website for more information about the foundation, this event, and upcoming events!
We hope you’ll take part in this purposeful event to help raise awareness for this deadly disease!
