Vendor Spotlight: Hilton’s Flooring

If there’s one thing that we all know, it’s that home remodeling is not a one-person job! As we have mentioned many times before, the Medford Team is beyond grateful for all of our fantastic trade professionals, vendors, and suppliers that work with us on a regular basis. It would not be possible to complete our high-quality projects without them! Many of these individuals have worked with us for over 20 years and have developed trusted relationships and meaningful friendships with each of us. As a luxury remodeler, we require those that work with us to maintain a high level of pride in what they do; we wholeheartedly believe that the qualities of our final products are directly related to the individuals we choose to work with, so when we say we have a GREAT team, we mean it! A 1990’s Master Bath Gets a Much Needed 2019 Update

Our recent clients have a beautiful home in North Richland Hills that they’ve lived in for several years. The house was in good condition, but the clients knew it was past due for an update. One of the rooms at the top of their list to remodel was the master bathroom. The original bathroom was very dated, including pastel pink wallpaper, builder-grade cabinets, poor lighting, and limited storage space. The updated design includes custom vanities, a frameless glass shower, a 60″ drop-in soaker tub, LED can lighting, and more!

A 1970’s Master Bathroom Makeover

Style trends come and go, but poor functionality is something that cannot be overlooked. For our recent clients, their master bathroom didn’t only look dated, but the poor use of space and limited functionality was a struggle they dealt with daily. They came to us with a complete remodel in mind (and when we say complete, we mean that even the plumbing deep below the floor was taken up and replaced!) Knowing it was going to be a massive undertaking, they sought a company that could help with both design and construction services. Our design team was able to redesign the entire room with floor plans and detailed renderings, followed by our talented crew of craftsmen that completed every phase of construction to install the remodel. What a great experience for us all, and what a transformation for this bathroom! Read more

A 1970’s Master Bathroom Makeover

Have you ever seen a dated kitchen or bathroom and thought “WHAT was the builder thinking?!” Such was the case in our recent Arlington remodel (and, unfortunately, in most homes that have been around for a while!) Everyone knows that aesthetic design changes over the years, however, it’s not always just the look that needs updating. Style trends come and go, but poor functionality is something that cannot be overlooked. A Luxurious Indoor-Outdoor Master Bathroom Addition

After years of sharing a tiny master bathroom, our recent clients in Fort Worth, Texas were more than ready to add on the custom-designed bathroom of their dreams! Along with adding more square footage and luxury features, they also wanted to incorporate their outdoor space into the remodel. The home sits on a large lot with beautiful, mature trees in their secluded backyard, so it was very important to them that we “bring the outside in” by including large windows and a skylight into the design. They also loved the idea of installing an exterior door, allowing them to easily step out to the patio on a beautiful morning.

During our discussion regarding the design, our clients noted that they planned to live the rest of their lives in this home. Any time we hear this from any of our clients – whether it be a kitchen, bathroom or whole house remodel– we always suggest including age-in-place features in the plans. Simple things like widened doorways, barrier-free showers, anti-slip flooring, and grab bars are all small modifications that can make the space safer and more comfortable for aging homeowners. This bathroom is proof that you can have age in place features and still have an extremely modern, trendy space!

One of the things we always try to upgrade in a bathroom remodel is the lighting. This usually involves replacing dated decorative lighting with strategically placed LED can lights and modern new fixtures. Another option to improve the lighting and atmosphere of a dim bathroom is to include a window into the design. Adding windows to a room is a great way to let in natural light and make the space feel larger.

Here are some of the most popular options for bathroom windows:

A Glamorous Master Bathroom Renovation

Our recent bathroom project involved renovating a large master bathroom in an upper-end Arlington, Texas home. The existing bathroom was quality and functional, but it was definitely dated with the typical brown tones, wallpaper and fixtures of the 1980’s. All of the dark, earthy colors paired with the poor lighting created a cave-like atmosphere, which made the space feel dim and smaller than it actually was. The clients wanted to brighten the room with a fresher, more modern look, updated features and specialty amenities to match the rest of their luxury home.

A Master Bathroom Stuck in ’92 Gets a 2017 Refresh

Our most recent remodeling project involved updating the master bathroom in a 1992 home in Grapevine, Texas. While the original bathroom was functional, it definitely lacked the aesthetic appeal of the rest of the home, which we recently helped the clients renovate. There was no need to change the layout of the space, aside from installing a smaller tub to allow for a larger shower. The idea was to simply upgrade the room with new flooring, tiles, vanities, counter tops, and lighting. It’s amazing what an impact these changes can make! Read more
