Every so often, we have clients that come to us for the design of their project and then wait a while to pull the trigger on the construction portion. This delay can be for a number of reasons – waiting for a specific event or holiday to pass, a recent change in career, or trying to make final decisions on the last few design options. Whatever the case may be, we are always happy when clients come back to us after an extended period of time with the intent to move forward. Our recent clients in Southlake, Texas, initially met with us in 2019 to discuss the renovation of an upstairs Jack & Jill bathroom. The project was intended for their daughter, who was in high school at the time, and wanted to refresh the space. While they waited almost two years to proceed with construction after the design was drawn, the timing was perfect for the daughter, who is now going into her senior year of high school. Of course, our team was happy for the opportunity to bring their designs to life!
Our recent clients in Arlington had lived in their 1970’s home for many years and were ready to revamp the dated kitchen. The idea was not only to have a brighter, more modern-looking aesthetic but also to improve the functionality of the room. Cabinet storage, counter space, and a more functional layout overall were big considerations when it came to designing the new area. One of the first items on their wish list was to have a more open, flowing floor plan between the kitchen, dining, and living room.
Our recent clients in Keller, Texas, had a beautiful home built in 2005. Being newer than many of the homes we remodel, it was surprising to see how badly the master bathroom needed a renovation! Unfortunately, builders often use poor-quality materials when constructing a new house in order to save a buck (hints the negative term “builder-grade”), putting the homeowners in need of a remodel sooner rather than later. While this original bathroom was functional, the space was poorly utilized and lacked emphasis on the features that really mattered to our clients. Our recent clients had a beautiful 4,700 square-foot home in Keller, Texas. The spacious 1990’s house included a large kitchen, complete with an L-shaped bar for seating and a small center island. While the size of the kitchen itself was great, the layout was not ideal. The clients loved to cook as a family, so the existing footprint with the bar on the outside and the island in the middle made it difficult for multiple people to be in the kitchen at once. This resulted in a very congested, crowded workspace. The clients came to us not only wanting to resolve this issue, but also had hopes to modernize the kitchen’s dated appearance with an open-concept look. Recently, one of our clients from Southlake reached out to us for help rebuilding their child’s Elementary School “treehouse.” This treehouse consists of two large, circular decks with benches built around the base of two separate oak trees on the Carroll Elementary School grounds. It has been a cherished part of the school for over 18 years, as it has been used for outdoor education days, teddy bear picnics, and as a welcomed treat to both teachers and students, whenever they were able to enjoy the outdoors on a sunny day.
Our recent clients have a beautiful home in North Richland Hills that they’ve lived in for several years. The house was in good condition, but the clients knew it was past due for an update. One of the rooms at the top of their list to remodel was the master bathroom. The original bathroom was very dated, including pastel pink wallpaper, builder-grade cabinets, poor lighting, and limited storage space. With hopes of redesigning the room for improved style and functionality, they contacted us to address their needs. As it is with any big investment, you should carefully consider your options, have a clear understanding of the process, and establish confidence and a comfortable relationship with the individual or company you intend to hire. This is especially true in the remodeling industry, as projects tend to be very costly and can last for several months. It’s critical that you find a reliable, experienced contractor that you get along with. Of course, the main purpose of meeting multiple contractors and getting multiple bids isn’t only to determine if you can trust them, but also to compare pricing.
