A Dated Fireplace Gets a Ledgestone Refresh

The fireplace has long been the focal point of the living room – the primary area in the home for friends and family to gather. Renovating such a major component can create a whole new look for the entire space. This was the goal of our recent clients in Keller, Texas. They came to us with the idea of updating their fireplace with Ledgestone and a rustic mantel to create a more modern aesthetic. Our designers met with them for a consultation and put together an overall concept for the design prior to beginning the plans and 3D renderings. Read more

In many of the homes we remodel today, an open-concept floor plan is the end goal. The kitchen is either already open to the living room, or it is in our remodeling plans to remove walls, resulting in one large, open space. The client’s original fireplace featured a rustic, dated natural stone with heavy built-in wood shelves and a matching mantle. While it wasn’t the worst fireplace we’ve seen, it definitely needed a refresh to create the updated vision the clients had for their home.

Our designers discussed options to give the fireplace a more modern look, while still keeping its original footprint and built-in shelving. We then created detailed wall elevations and 3-D renderings to provide the clients with a visual of how the new fireplace would look once complete.

After taking photos and measurements, our designers were able to create detailed floor plans and 3-D renderings to illustrate how the remodeled spaces would look once the renovations were complete:
