Jaxon Anthony Memorial Foundation 9th Annual Clay Shooting Tournament

There is something to be said about non-profit organizations that selflessly offer a helping hand to those in need. At Medford Design-Build, we aim to support these local organizations by spreading awareness of their upcoming fundraising events.

This month, we would like to spotlight the Jaxon Anthony Memorial Foundation of Mansfield, TX. This heartfelt organization was created to honor the memory of Jeffrey and Ashley Arnold’s son, Jaxon Anthony Arnold, who was born and passed on July 9, 2012. The foundation gives financial support to families suffering an unexpected infant loss or stillbirth by assisting with the infant burial costs at Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield, where Jaxon was laid to rest. Our community event spotlight this month features “Hungry for Creativity,” an art show fundraiser celebrating the stories and work of the art therapy group members of the Community Crossroads Outreach Center.

The Community Crossroads art therapy group serves people who are homeless and/or under-resourced and seeks to promote dignity, resilience, self-worth, and empowerment by promoting social change through the art therapy process. Art therapy at Community Crossroads has grown substantially over the last year, where individuals have described the group as a “beacon of light in a dark world” and a safe haven for expression. Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is hosting it’s 4th Annual Spring Trash Bash on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM!
 
 
The Trinity Trash Bash is a bi-annual community event purposed to clean up trash and debris that accumulates along the Trinity River throughout Fort Worth. Families, friends and organizational groups come together as motivated volunteers to help clean up the river banks in 6 different locations.

Simply choose a location from the map and register.  Everyone is welcome– bring a group, a friend or just yourself! When the trash is all “bashed”, All volunteers are treated to an after party with free food, door prizes and entertainment at Panther Island Pavilion and Cobb Park.
 
 
Cleanup packets are available May 16th – 18th, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the TRWD Office – 600 E. Northside Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76102, or the morning of the Bash at your chosen location.
 
 
TRWD is aiming to break last year’s Trash Bash record of more than 4,000 volunteers, so be sure to help them spread the word! The first 3,000 to register get a free event t-shirt!

Do you or someone you know love to golf? Project 4031 is hosting their 4th Annual Hospice Golf Classic at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth. Come play for a purpose and raise funds for terminally ill children and adults.
 
 
The tournament is taking place Monday, April 23, 2018, at 6600 Mira Vista Boulevard in Fort Worth, 76132, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Individual tickets start at $200, with team entries and sponsorship opportunities also available. All proceeds will benefit Project 4031.

DFW Community Event: The Nutcracker benefiting Sunshine Spaces

 
 

 
 
Calling all Christmas lovers: Studio One Dance Center is performing their very first Nutcracker Ballet this year! All ticket sales and donations will benefit Sunshine Spaces; “a non-profit Dallas-Fort Worth organization that brings Sunshine to the lives of children battling life-threatening or long-term illnesses through dream room-makeovers, giving them a place to rest, heal, and be a ‘kid’ again.”
 
 
The production is taking place Saturday, December 16, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Northwood Church: 1870 Rufe Snow Drive, Keller, TX 76248.
 
 
Tickets will be on sale November 15th-December 16th for all General Admission tickets ($10), and November 15th-December 9th for VIP Reserved tickets ($15). If purchasing a VIP Reserve ticket, you are welcome to stop by the office at Studio One to specify which specific seats you would prefer (please present your order confirmation email with your confirmation number).

A Mile in My Shoes, Southside: Serving the Homeless Community of Fort Worth, Texas

 
 
Holiday season is just around the corner: a time for giving and helping those in need. Unfortunately, North Texas – Fort Worth in particular – has many that are in need this time of year.

Southside Community Center in Fort Worth is hosting an event — A Mile in My Shoes, Southside — to serve the local homeless community. They are looking for volunteers to assist with donations and catering to the homeless.

The event is taking place Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Southside Community Center:
