We recently had the pleasure of designing and installing a custom putting green in a client’s backyard. The client loves golf, and wanted to be able to practice putting in the convenience of his own back yard. This project was a lot of fun, and really turned out great!
Before getting started, we talked to the client about what he had in mind and then created a rough sketch of the design.
Once the design was approved on paper, we laid down the outline on the grass to make sure we had the shape just right, while allowing plenty of space for traffic and surrounding landscaping.
Since the yard was on a hill, an attractive stone retaining wall was installed by our talented mason, James Slaton.
James also helped us out with installation of a matching custom fire pit beside the client’s pool. What a great place to host a get together with friends or family!
The turf was supplied and by DFW Putting Greens, and installed by Ron Hambrick. The angle of the cups, as well as the stint of the grass, which would determine the speed of the ball, were installed to the clients specifications.

The landscaping around the putting green also added to the finished look of the backyard. Mary Kay Griffith at C.C.’s Touch of Nature did a fantastic job designing and installing the landscape with beautiful flowers and greenery, making the finished backyard really feel like a resort!
