The Keep Fort Worth Beautiful foundation is hosting the 34th annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup, coming up on March 30th! Each year, thousands of volunteers – including organizations, businesses, and individuals – come together to pick up litter from local parks, streets, creeks, and other public areas. In 2018, these hard-working volunteers removed over 140,000 pounds of trash from their communities!

You can select from a list of cleanup locations or choose your own (within the City of Fort Worth) and then register as an individual or as a group. All registrants will receive gloves and bags. T-shirts are limited to the first 7,000 registrants.

If you are looking for a place to make a difference, but aren’t sure where to go, join one of our cleanup hubs. These are pre-selected sites throughout the city open to individuals and groups who want to join:

Echo Lake Park

Eugene McCray Park

Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods

Lake Como Park

Lake Worth Sailing Club

As a part of the clean-up and to help promote environmental awareness, the Fort Worth Runners Club has also partnered with the City of Fort Worth and the EPA to host the annual “Chasing Leaks 5K Run” during the Cowtown Cleanup. This run aims to encourage residents to fix leaks and stop wasting water. This year, race proceeds assist low-income families with their water bills. It’s a great opportunity for those that enjoy running to help make a positive impact on the community and the environment!

After the clean-up and the 5K, everyone is invited to the Earth Party: the biggest green event in Fort Worth! The party takes place at Panther Island Pavilion on the Trinity River. Enjoy food, fun, and learning about all things sustainable. There will be live music and family-friendly activities for all ages. Visit educational booths and exhibits to learn about topics like water conservation, air quality, waste reduction and recycling, environmental issues, healthy living initiatives, and much more!

Saturday, March 30th is going to be a fun-filled, purpose-driven day in Fort Worth, Texas! For more information on these events or to register, visit the Keep Fort Worth Beautiful webpage.
