Overcoming a cancer diagnosis is something worth celebrating, and what better way to celebrate and form lifelong friendships than with others who have gone through the same thing. Our featured community event for the month of June is a free tennis class for women cancer survivors, hosted by Cancer StrongHER.
Here is the event post via EventBrite:
In partnership with The Birch Racquet and Lawn Club and Keller Alliance Tennis Charter (KATCH), Cancer StrongHER is excited to bring free tennis classes to female cancer survivors! Classes are for female survivors of ALL cancers and are completely free-of-charge. Whether you are a beginner, an experienced player, or somewhere in between, we have the session just for you. We will provide the balls for everyone and loaner racquets for beginners. If you have a racquet, please bring it. Make sure to bring water and dress appropriately for the weather. Please watch our Facebook page and website closely for weather cancellations. To adhere to social distancing protocol, we are limited to 8 beginner players and 8 experienced players, so please reserve your spot quickly via Eventbrite, and please only register once per person. If you find the class is full, you will be placed on a waiting list to fill any cancellations. Summer classes will take place indoors. Let’s play some tennis!
