When our Colleyville, TX clients moved into their home, they were excited to host family gatherings. But after just one holiday season, they realized their kitchen wasn’t functioning as well as it could for them. The peninsula cut off the flow, storage was limited, and many of the high-end features they enjoyed in their previous kitchen were missing.
Fast forward to today and we’re excited to reveal their stunning new kitchen, designed with function, flow, and modern features in mind.
Before: The Challenges
The original kitchen had:
- A peninsula that limited movement and seating.
- Insufficient cabinet space, with no room for larger appliances.
- Countertops cluttered with daily-use items.
- Outdated layout that didn’t suit the family’s lifestyle.
The Design Plan
Our goal was to create a kitchen that felt seamless with the rest of the home while solving the major functionality issues.
- Replace peninsula with a kitchen island for circulation and seating.
- Install custom cabinetry with a mix of painted and stained clear alder finishes, tying into the home’s cedar crown moulding.
- Extend uppers to the ceiling with obscure glass and lighting.
- Upgrade to quartz countertops for durability and beauty.
- Add modern conveniences: workstation sink, Delta touch faucet, pot filler, Thermador coffee machine, and a full-size wine fridge.
- Improve lighting with under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting on a switch.
- Reconfigure walls: close off dining room double doors for appliance wall, and open wall to nook for better flow.
- Replace back door with a new atrium door.
During Construction
Our team carefully executed each step to bring the design to life, from the electrical overhaul to installing new cabinetry and flooring.
- Flooring replaced throughout the kitchen, nook, and family room.
- Ceiling repaired and fully repainted.
- Appliances and fixtures installed, including the 48” gas range and custom wood hood.
The Final Reveal
The completed kitchen now features:
- A large, functional island with seating for two.
- Ample storage designed specifically for everyday appliances.
- Sleek quartz countertops paired with tile backsplash.
- Statement wood hood and black finishes for a modern edge.
- Smart lighting solutions that make the kitchen shine both day and night.
The result is a kitchen that not only looks stunning but also makes holiday hosting and daily living effortless.
