Medford Design-Build is happy to announce that we have officially opened our second location! The new office is in Colleyville: 1005 Glade Road, Ste #135, Colleyville, TX 76034.
We have been serving this area with home design and remodeling services for years, but wanted to offer a local office to our clients in Colleyville, Southlake, Grapevine, Bedford, and surrounding areas that would be closer than our Arlington office. It’s conveniently located on Glade Road and will be perfect for consultations and client review meetings. The office includes a front reception area and access to a large conference room with plenty of seating. The big screen TV will be a great benefit for clients to view their project designs, 3-D renderings and virtual walk-thru videos. We are thrilled to be able to provide a convenient location to our Colleyville & surrounding area clients.
A laundry room remodel is probably on the majority of homeowners’ wish lists, but it’s not as common of a project for us to complete as kitchen or bathroom remodels. The reason being that many laundry rooms lack the space for a significant remodel and adding square footage requires the right circumstances and a larger budget. Luckily, for our recent clients in Arlington, Texas, they already had a large laundry room that provided a lot of space to play with. We were able to re-design the space and manipulate the layout to create the laundry room of their dreams!
We were recently able to help our sweet clients in Grapevine, Texas, renovate almost every room in their 1992 home; all that was left was the master bathroom. While the existing bathroom was functional, it was very dated. The clients wanted a beautiful, peaceful retreat that would flow well with the rest of their newly remodeled home, which is exactly what they got! Check out our blog post for the details of
this amazing transformation!

This time of year in Texas offers beautiful, sunny days, but the warming temperatures of the season also mean spring showers and thunderstorms are on the way! These changing weather patterns make it hard to enjoy the outdoors if your home is lacking necessary features. Patio covers are a great solution, providing a sheltered outdoor space for when it rains and a cool, covered area for when it’s sunny and hot.
Patio covers are a common request from our clients during the spring season and all the way through the summer. Many of them are initially interested in arbors or pergolas, but we usually advise them to steer clear of these types of structures and go with a full patio cover instead. The reasons are many:
When first built, arbors are beautiful and add a great deal of visual appeal to a home’s exterior. The problem is that they instantly go into a state of decay because of the way they are built and the exposure the wood has to the elements. If vines or other vegetation are allowed to grow on an arbor, it decays even faster. The numerous joints and horizontal surfaces of the arbor will hold water, which will soak into the wood regardless of how well it is stained or painted. Within a few short years, all the little rotten spots will get out of hand and the structure will have to be taken down. Arbors and pergolas also do not offer the same level of protection that a patio cover does.
