Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County Meal Distribution

As a small family-owned business in Tarrant County, Medford Design-Build takes great pride in our local community. Particularly in uncertain times such as this, it is encouraging to be able to lean on one another and find strength among our neighbors and friends. One of the biggest struggles for many families during this shelter-in-place order is the inability to work, resulting in a lack of funds for essential items, such as food. Luckily, there are a lot of organizations that are currently working within different communities to assist those in need.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is an organization the Medford Team has stood behind for years. It’s primary goal is to enable young people of all ages and backgrounds to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. By instilling core values, encouraging positive attitudes, and providing a safe place for children to grow and learn, this organization acts as a strong pillar in our community.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County Meal Distribution

For the next several weeks, through the end of May, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County intends to provide much needed meals to it’s members. Every day from 4-6pm, the staff at select locations will be placing a healthy meal and an enrichment activity kit safely in members’ vehicles. This interaction, although brief and without contact, is a representation to club members that even in crisis the club can be a steady force in their lives. This service also hopes to provide a sense of relief to parents that may be struggling to provide for their family during this time.

To date, the club has distributed 6,000 meals to kids in Tarrant County, and we expect the response to increase as time continues. However, providing this service for a total of eight weeks will cost Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County $415,000 – so they need all the support they can get to continue to do this. Especially since all of their fundraising events and activities have been cancelled until further notice.

If you are interested in donating, please visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County website. There is an option to sign up for a recurring monthly gift or a one-time gift; as little or as much as you would like.

You can also find other information regarding the Clubs’ response to COVID-19 on their website, such as this encouraging Impact Report.

We hope you’ll partner with us, and so many others, in the effort provide some relief to local children and families during this crisis. A little kindness can go a long way for those in need!

Warm Regards,

The Medford Team
