Project Location: Euless, TX
Project Type: Kitchen & Living Room Remodel
Completion Year: 2026
When these homeowners first found Medford Design-Build on Houzz in 2020, they began a relationship that would bring them back to us for their project in 2026. Their goal was to transform a closed-off, inefficient kitchen into a more open and functional space that felt connected to the surrounding living areas.
The existing kitchen had a clunky layout, limited storage, and a wall that separated it from the family room. We reimagined the kitchen, dining nook, and living room to create a cohesive space that feels both timeless and inviting. The finished design blends classic transitional details with warm metallic accents for a fresh take on traditional style.
Before construction began, our team developed floor plans and 3D renderings to help the homeowners visualize the proposed changes. Seeing the new layout take shape on paper and in realistic views made it easier to understand how opening up the kitchen would improve the flow between the main living areas and how the new features would fit together.
By opening the wall to create a more open layout, we improved the connection between the kitchen and living room. At the center of the new kitchen is a generously sized island with an undermount stainless steel sink and seating along the family room side. The island provides additional workspace while creating a natural gathering spot for everyday meals and entertaining.
White Shaker-style cabinetry keeps the perimeter light and classic, while satin glass doors on the upper cabinets add visual interest. A walk-in pantry and custom storage solutions help make the kitchen more functional, giving everyday essentials a designated place.
The material selections bring warmth and contrast to the otherwise light kitchen. Phoenix Sky man-made quartz countertops and backsplash feature a soft, light background that complements the surrounding cabinetry. Champagne bronze cabinet hardware and coordinating faucet and soap dispenser introduce a warm metallic finish that stands out beautifully against the white cabinetry.
Three Kichler Madden mini pendants above the island provide decorative lighting, while the warm metallic details carry throughout the space. Our in-house interior designer was able to work with the homeowners to create a balanced look that feels classic without feeling dated.
As part of this remodel, custom drawer pull-outs were incorporated near the cooktop to provide dedicated storage for spices, cutting boards, and baking sheets. Rather than relying on standard storage alone, these tailored solutions make better use of the available space and give frequently used kitchen essentials a designated place.
As part of this remodel, a dedicated beverage bar was incorporated into the kitchen design to give the homeowners a convenient spot for their coffee and drink-making essentials. This area adds additional storage while keeping frequently used items organized and accessible. It’s a small detail that makes a difference.
The adjacent dining nook received its own update with an L-shaped built-in banquette tucked into the corner by the window. The seating makes better use of the available space while creating a comfortable spot for casual meals. A five-light chandelier adds another layer of warmth and character. Its modern gold finish complements the kitchen’s champagne bronze accents while allowing the dining area to have a little personality of its own.
The remodel extended beyond the kitchen and dining nook to the living room, where the fireplace was remodeled and custom cabinetry was installed. These updates helped carry the refreshed look into the adjoining living space, creating a more cohesive feel throughout the main living areas. The updated flooring also extends through the kitchen, nook, family room, dining room, entry, front office, and additional downstairs areas, helping tie the spaces together. Rather than treating each room as a separate project, the design brings the home's main living areas together through consistent materials and a more functional layout.
Choosing the right design-build team makes all the difference in your home remodeling experience.
A key part of our process is helping homeowners visualize the possibilities before construction begins. Detailed floor plans and 3D renderings allowed these clients to see how the updated layout would connect and make informed decisions about the design before moving forward. Having a clear plan in place helps ensure that the finished project reflects the homeowners’ vision.
At Medford Design-Build, we believe a successful remodel is about more than choosing beautiful finishes. It takes collaboration, careful planning, and a team that considers how every detail will work together. Our Design-Build process brings design and construction together from the start, helping homeowners move forward with a clearer understanding of their project.
By opening up the kitchen, improving storage, and creating a better connection between the kitchen, dining nook, and living room, we helped these homeowners make the most of their existing space.
