North Texas Toy Run 2014

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the 22nd Annual North Texas Toy Run is taking place on Saturday, December 13th. The event is purposed to benefit the hundreds of children at the Salvation Army Shelter in Fort Worth, providing them with gifts and food for this Christmas. It is open to all motorcyclists and will take place no matter what the weather. Registration begins at 8 AM, followed by an auction at 9 AM, and then the ride starts at 10 AM. The 21-mile route begins at the Main Event located at 407 W. State Hwy 114, Grapevine, Texas and ends at the Salvation Army, 1855 East Lancaster Avenue, in Fort Worth. Participating bikers are encouraged to bring as many unwrapped toy donations as possible.

If you’re not interested in riding, you can always come watch the bikers! Last year, several hundred bikers participated, and the event was rated as one of the top five Toy Runs in Texas by Ride Texas Magazine! Miles and miles of motorcyclists and the crowds that comes to watch is quite a sight to see, and will also be featured on DFW KTVT 11. You can bring donations to the event, give at any local Wells Fargo bank branch, or donate funds directly via www.northtexastoyrun.org.

Here is a link to a short video of the event, and also some photos from last year’s Toy Run.

It’s a lot of fun, and is a great way to help make a child’s Christmas a little brighter!
