Whole House Remodel Part 4: Guest Bathrooms & Bedroom

We have now reached the final blog of our 4-part series featuring our Arlington whole house remodel! It has been such a pleasure sharing the stunning transformation of the kitchen, living spaces, and master bathroom and closet. This major remodel comes to a close with the 2 guest bathrooms and one of the guest bedrooms we were able to renovate for our wonderful clients.

Because the two guest bathrooms were both relatively small to begin with, our team and the clients decided it was best to keep the original footprint and not change anything structural. The end goal for these rooms was primarily to update the aesthetic to match the rest of the newly remodeled house. Read more

Whole House Remodel Part 3: The Master Bathroom & Closet

If you’ve been following along with our 4-part blog series featuring our recent whole house remodel, you’ve likely already seen the posts detailing the renovations of the kitchen and living spaces. In this post, we’ll be sharing the grand reveal of the show-stopping master bathroom and glamorous walk-in closet!

Much like the kitchen and living spaces, the original master bathroom had good bones, so it didn’t require a lot of structural changes. It was open and spacious with a large bathtub, corner shower, toilet room, and two vanities. It also included separate “his & hers” closets. Unfortunately, as many positives as there were for this bathroom, it was still very out of date. The goal of our designers was to refresh the aesthetic of the bathroom with a clean, modern look and streamline the features to really take advantage of all this bathroom had to offer. Read more

A 1990’s Master Bath Gets a Much Needed 2019 Update!

Our recent clients have a beautiful home in North Richland Hills that they’ve lived in for several years. The house was in good condition, but the clients knew it was past due for an update.  One of the rooms at the top of their list to remodel was the master bathroom. The original bathroom was very dated, including pastel pink wallpaper, builder-grade cabinets, poor lighting, and limited storage space. With hopes of redesigning the room for improved style and functionality, they contacted us to address their needs. Our knowledgeable team of designers met with them in their home, discussed the issues and possible solutions, and provided the clients with a clear course of action to get the project done. A 1970’s Master Bathroom Makeover

Have you ever seen a dated kitchen or bathroom and thought “WHAT was the builder thinking?!” Such was the case in our recent Arlington remodel (and, unfortunately, in most homes that have been around for a while!) Everyone knows that aesthetic design changes over the years, however, it’s not always just the look that needs updating. Style trends come and go, but poor functionality is something that cannot be overlooked. For our clients, their master bathroom didn’t only look dated, but the poor use of space and limited functionality was a struggle they dealt with daily. They came to us with a complete remodel in mind (and when we say complete, we mean that even the plumbing deep below the floor was taken up and replaced!) Knowing it was going to be a massive undertaking, they sought a company that could help with both design and construction services. Our design team was able to redesign the entire room with floor plans and detailed renderings, followed by our talented crew of craftsmen that completed every phase of construction to install the remodel. What a great experience for us all, and what a transformation for this bathroom!

A Luxurious Indoor-Outdoor Master Bathroom Addition

After years of sharing a tiny master bathroom, our recent clients in Fort Worth, Texas were more than ready to add on the custom-designed bathroom of their dreams! Along with adding more square footage and luxury features, they also wanted to incorporate their outdoor space into the remodel. The home sits on a large lot with beautiful, mature trees in their secluded backyard, so it was very important to them that we “bring the outside in” by including large windows and a skylight into the design. They also loved the idea of installing an exterior door, allowing them to easily step out to the patio on a beautiful morning.

During our discussion regarding the design, our clients noted that they planned to live the rest of their lives in this home. Any time we hear this from any of our clients – whether it be a kitchen, bathroom or whole house remodel– we always suggest including age-in-place features in the plans. Simple things like widened doorways, barrier-free showers, anti-slip flooring, and grab bars are all small modifications that can make the space safer and more comfortable for aging homeowners. This bathroom is proof that you can have age in place features and still have an extremely modern, trendy space!

An Open & Airy Guest Bath Suited for Two

Guest bathroom remodels are frequently among the top items on our client’s wish lists. It might not seem as important as the kitchen or the master bathroom, but when you consider that the guest bathroom is what all of your guests use upon visiting your home, you can’t help but want it to look nice. On top of aesthetic appeal, you also want the space to be functional. In many cases, the homes that we remodel are at least 20-30 years old, and the bathrooms are not only outdated, but also have plumbing issues, poor lighting, broken or missing tile, and eroded fixtures – not ideal for guests or prolonged visitors! Our recent clients in Arlington, Texas had similar issues and chose to include the guest bathroom remodel with some other projects we were completing throughout their home.

One of the things we always try to upgrade in a bathroom remodel is the lighting. This usually involves replacing dated decorative lighting with strategically placed LED can lights and modern new fixtures. Another option to improve the lighting and atmosphere of a dim bathroom is to include a window into the design. Adding windows to a room is a great way to let in natural light and make the space feel larger.

A Glamorous Master Bathroom Renovation

Our recent bathroom project involved renovating a large master bathroom in an upper-end Arlington, Texas home. The existing bathroom was quality and functional, but it was definitely dated with the typical brown tones, wallpaper and fixtures of the 1980’s. All of the dark, earthy colors paired with the poor lighting created a cave-like atmosphere, which made the space feel dim and smaller than it actually was. The clients wanted to brighten the room with a fresher, more modern look, updated features and specialty amenities to match the rest of their luxury home.
