This past weekend, I was able to participate in a great charity event benefitting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Texas Motor Speedway welcomed more than 325 supporters for the 13th Dallas-Fort Worth Ride for Kids to support children battling brain tumors. Riders of all ages and all models of bikes came together to increase awareness about childhood brain tumors and raise funds for medical research and family support.
Each rider donated a minimum of $40 for the event, which included a 30 mile ride in the country and three laps around the speedway. Those with trikes and side cars gave many of the young brain tumor patients a ride!
One of the foundation’s star survivors, Liam, especially enjoyed the day:
“Liam has been looking forward to this for weeks,” said his mom, Jamie Hogan. “It makes his day and ours.”
At the time of the ride, the event had raised $56,240 to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s efforts, and honored 11 local brain tumor survivors!
It was a fantastic event that I was happy to be a part of! For more information about the foundation, how you can support it, and other upcoming events, click here.
Warm Regards,
Mike
